First Stabilizer

FLong at getting a my first Stabilizer

Had a go with Cartel ACC - Long Stabilizer today at club, and liked it, so much i want to get a longrod.

Question , which out the two would be best and why?

Cartel ACC - Long Stabilizer

or

Cartel Balkan Multi Long Rod

Many thanks

T.

If you can find a shop that has both then I would go and try them out. I use a Beiter multi rod which for me provides the same stabilisation but is lighter that the single Cartel ACC rod I was using.

You could also try and borrow a few long rods at the local club to try if members are willing to let you have a go with their kit.

Would agree with blue,,

Try as many as you can.

club members are always good to try long rods

I went for the Beiter too, after having a carbon long rod made from an old fishing rod by the Club bowyer.
After shooting with just the long rod for a while, I treated myself to the twins to match and an AGF v-bar. Great!

I started with the Cartel Balkan rod. Heavier than my Doinker, but great in the wind, less rod, so the wind does not deflect the rod and bow as much. Downsides were the construction and materials of the unit. The movable weights all had cracks in them. Other colleagues at the club had the same faults in there's. If you are happy to araldite them together great, superglue dissolves the plastic.I got rid of mine and will not buy or reccomend a Cartel group product. Even the extender I had. 3" Cartel, one one occasion the longrod, short rods, v-bar assembly, blew straight off the front of the bow on one release. The glue joining the carbon rod to the aluminium cap, had not glued. Buy another brand.

Any stab will feel better than none. Avoid the Balkan multirod, it's a rip-off and not a patch on the Beiter. I think a 30" Cartel longrod with a doinker on the end is pretty close in feel and performance to most others on the market and bloody cheap as well.

Thats what i did have a go with today and liked it.

Can not afford the 60-70 Beiter's atm, so think it will be the longrod then the doinker then, as I used today.

Wingate have you had chance to compare you Doinker with a Beiter multi rod ? The D2 carbon elite seems at the moment to be the rod of choice, but I was wondering what it behaves like in the wind.
