| On a normal day, I come above the gold on the pre-draw and then onto gold at full draw. If it is windy, I will pre-draw to the left or right according to which way the wind is blowing (it the wind is from the left, I will aim to the left og the gold) ![]()

| i always pull through to full draw sighting on red just above gold then lower into it, found this to be a lot easier on the shoulder as lowering into gold is relaxing the muscles

| I tend to be below the gold when at full draw, then as I come fully into line and put my string in the right place, and sort my front shoulder I end up on the gold.

| I do exactly as Little Miss Purple. Begining below the gold is not a recommanded practice because it needs a lot of physical ressource to aim the gold at the end of the draw. The archer will tend to drop his bow arm when the arrow is released.

| On the Gold The best practice that I was taught was to ignore the gold completly and concentrate on your form, consistancy in form with little or no adjustment is best, I was always taught that the target you aim for is an atom behind the target, this atom just so happens to exist behind the ten zone, by concentrating on this atom in your head then theres little chance of target panic.

| I set the shot up, looking at the point, look at the gold, move the sight if needs be, all while continuing the setup and then finish the shot while aiming |

| I agree with scotstoxo. I concentrate on anchor point first and then switching to gold concentration as I complete the shot. I do however raise my bow arm to roughly horizontal before I start the shot. |

| On this very point, has anyone read the recent article in Archery Focus about focusing on the gold, entitled "The eyes have it"? It suggests that you should not look at the actual target for more than 3 seconds. Last edited by Kae; 26-07-06 at 02:02 PM. |
