| Think I must have had the same unsympathetic Doctor as you I had the same problem and was told to not shoot for a couple of months. I could not do that as I had/have loads of comps to attend. Anyway, I purchased one of these... ![]() ... and 6 weeks later of wearing it everytime I shoot and all is well again now. I can highly recommend the use of a Tennis Elbow Support. I purchased mine from here.... http://www.return2fitness.co.uk/Supp...rts/md485elbow |

| Ah hem, I don't know anything about the bow your using, but, arm pain and discomfort can be attributed to the shocks that are sent down your arm whilst you shoot. Ever seen a riser break?? The same forces are travelling down your arm Doinkers and other shock-saving devices can make a huge difference. Not only do they take the shock away from you, but also from your equipment, making it last longer. Its worth a try. (and yes, of course you need a new bow ) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I'm not convinced on the limb savers thing, but doinkers on stabilisers seems to make sense. Where do they go? Long rod fixes all? Or can they be positioned to reduce the torsion/torque? If so where? These are new ideas to me, coming back into the sport after a 14 year break. My larger half has been shooting the same limbs for 16 years without wearing them out...so when do these devices prolong the life of your kit? Anyhoo, thanks for the support for a new bow..I'll be using for leverage with Him Indoors! ;-)

| I have tried a little homemade remedy - a band of fabric solidly zinc oxide taped around that bit...it just gives me pins and needles when its tight enough to be working...so perhaps I should splash out on a purpose made thing...thanks for the website info.

| Can you get tennis elbow from pulling arrows out of targets. I pulled about 600 today. Will have to do the same tomorrow. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Firstly, go to your GP and ask to be referred to a physio, preferably one with sports physio experience. Failing that, find a recommended private sports physio. You may have tennis elbow, but there's no way to be sure without a correct diagnosis. |

| Thanks for the help, everyone.I bought a slazenger style neoprene and velcro brace with a thick pad inside to sit on the muscle, and it really works. I wear it for shooting and if it is sore for any other reason, such as too much lifting or twisting, but the relief is instant. I'm now finding I can shoot without it for short periods of time, so I'm hoping I can get over the tennis elbow completely. Incidentally, in connection with this I was asked how long my riser was as there is a lot more torque in a longer bow...to which the answer is 25". BUT, I was intrigued, and measured. It is actually 51.5cm, when measured in a straight line, as the crow flies, from the centres of the mushroom shaped limb bolts. (Sorry to mix units.) I have my the bolts tightened down slightly, which makes them slightly them closer than if they were at factory minimum setting. This explains why I struggle to get a bought 68" bowstring to fit with any twists in at anything less than the highest bracing height. Him Indoors' Border Cyclone riser is 50cm dead, at factory setting. My daughter's short Winact is 45cm exactly. I never thought about this before, and hadn't considered if this would have a physical effect. Has anyone else out there noticed any differences, and if you can be bothered, what is the length of your riser, bolt to bolt? Cherry ![]()

| Try some doinkers and other vibration absorbers. They may have no effect on the shooting, but will have some on the state of your body. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
