Pressure Buttons!

Hi all

I am looking for some adivce on exactly what to do with my pressure button!

I bave recently changed my arrows from aluminium Easton Jazz to carbon redlines. As the redlines are less flexible I understand I need to alter the setting on the pressure button. But, do I need it to be stiffer or looser?

I am shooting reasoably well at the moment, indoor, but the arrows appear to be drifting left. Could this be due to the set up of the pressure button pushing the arrows to far left?

Any adivce wouldbe gratefully appreciated.

cheers all

Paul

Are you right handed?

more experienced shooters can probably give you the full chapter and verse, but broadly if your arrow is stiffer you need to "soften" the pressure to bring ther arow back to centre. Shoot from ten yards, set the sight ring directly above the arrow shaft, then use button pressure adjustment to move the impact point on the target. This should get you close then go for one of the many tuning guides available. Have a look at Murray (Elliott)'s guide - really really good reference work available online at .... hang on, I'll go find the link unless someone can beat me to it (Murray, where are you?)
Back in a minute!

Steve

It ain't as simple as that. If you would tell us what Jazz arrows you had ( 1816, 1916, 2012 etc) and what spine rating the redlines are it would give us a better idea of what you are going to have to do with reguards button etc. I would down load the Easton tuning guide from www.eastonarchery.com and have a read if I were you becasue there are other changes you might need to make due to different diameter of the new arrows. While you are there you might as well download the shaft selector program as well.

This is the link (or at least it'll get you there if its not direct)

Jerry is of course correct it isn't quite as simple as I've suggested but I think the whole process is better covered by Murray than us trying to do it online. What I suggested is a good starting point IMVHO!

Paul - don't know if it's a very small world or maybe not - are you Paul (MAS)?

When I said that it's not as simple as that I was refering to the original post at the start of the thread. Not yours Steve your info is correct. You got your reply in first and we got a bit out of sync.

Senior moment

Sorry Paul

The Paul Arrowsmith I was thinking of was actually called Ed! Put it down to age.

Paul,
If you see me or Greydog at the club we are more than happy to help with your tuning - as per earlier conversation. Feel free to PM me if you want to arrange a time. I am free most of the time except tomorrow night when I'm expecting a good kicking from the club committee
