I have only ever used limb savers at the end of the fade out, about 3or4 inches up from the riser worked fine for me so which is the right place for them?

most people will place their limb savers at the bottom of their limb, about the thin end of the wedge, this seem's to still quieten the shot and reduce vibration, if placeing higher on the limb you will notice a fall off in arrow speed.. they can be placed either on the back or front of the limb, mostly you will see them applied to the back, though some korean shooters place them on the front.. finaly make sure your bow is tuned before placement

I agree with Reckless. Make sure your bow is tuned and performing at it's best. Stick the limb savers on the inside face of the limbs (facing the archer, not the target). I have been told that they have to be aligned in a certain way. Are they not just special rubber compound with magical properties?Orientating them makes a difference?

You have to fit them under the light of a full moon for best results - preferably with pagan music playing in the background.

I have pushed and prodded these things, there is no alignment requirement, perhaps the alignment mentioned was aligning them on the bow - to be dead centre of the limbs?

NarowBoat, there are several clubs within 10 miles or so of Peterborough, including one at Ferry Meadows (Nene Bowmen) that has been quite stable and in existence for a long time. Good luck with your shooting. Jollys and Parkfield are very well run and seem to have very succesful kids programs too, with coaches on hand. If you are a GNAS member, then you may be able to visit and shoot at as a guest while the politics continues.

By the ay, what did you pay for the beginners course, and what did you get for your money? GGC

I would be interested if anyone else on the forum considers this to be a beginers course? You really should get some more instruction
