| X7s are a good arrow indoors or oudoors. The only problems outdoors arise because of the size. I was shooting almost identical X7s to yours (still do indoors) but struggled to get them to 80yds. Also the profile makes them more susceptible to side wind.

| As Tel says they are a fantastic arrow, straighter than any of the AC range, the problems you have with them is down to weight and diameter meaning lower sight marks and prone to wind drift. If shooting at out door ranges 1.75 vanes and spinwing types will be fine, on even the fattest arrows keeping the overall weight down and arrow speed up is the key.

| Good arrows for short and medium ranges on calm days. As for fletching size, this should be in proportion to the cross sectional area of the shaft. If a bow is well tuned then the amount of correction required by the arrow should be less as it is launched in the correct attitude. But I would say that 1 3/4 is a little on the small side. |

| Good arrows, esp for indoor.outdoors you will be losing accuracy due to wind and diameter. Great linecutters. Small fleches. |

| 60 yards will be no problem, I am using 2012's with 2.25 plastic fletchings, EP23? Won a national round the other day with them when others were using carbons so they cant be that bad. Longer distances though go for carbons, perhaps next year now as indoors isn't far away.

| Thanks all As far as I know our club doesnt have an indoor range, at least not heard anyone mention one - and they shoot all year long come rain or shine (hardy bunch) Other archers at same level at my club are using Jazz and xx75's (I am still new at this), I got these as part of a set-up I bought here on this site and I plan on using them outdoors (as they are my only arrows - and far better than the loaners!!) - just wanted to make sure they were...o..k.... to use outdoors. Not expecting them to be the best arrows on the line up or anything - was just concerned as no site mentions using them outdoors, they werent going to fly sideways across the field at the slightest cross wind!! I will upgrade to something like ACC, ACE, x10's when I feel my drawlength is set in stone - just wanted to ensure these will be ok to use until that time comes! (cant afford to spend £200 odd now then find my draw changes by an inch or so when my technique settles down) Agains thanks to all who replied Jaarus

| well back in the old days (they should actually be called the young days!!) I used to shoot 2115 X7's with 2.75" spin wings (you can still buy these btw). Actually everyone shot X7's as carbon and aluminum/carbon arrows hadn't been invented. They are fine at whatever distance you can reach. Yes, they are slower, Yes they're more affected by wind BUT - they still go in the middle when shot properly. Carbon arrows go faster but they are no more accurate, they just punish a weak shot as badly and they help with longer distances. You should be fine upto 80yds (but this of course depends on factors such as your anchor position and face geometry and style). If you can shot 10's with your X7's then you will definitely see an improvement outdoors when you move to carbon. Simon |
