Realistic target for Bowman?

Is this achievable in two or three years?

I'm going to put in whatever work I need to do to try and get there, as I think I've really got a chance to, but is this a decent timeframe?

Bowmen/1st classers, how long did it take you to get to your level?

Any tips on how I might accelerate progress aside from strength training and shooting whenever possible?

Just go for it Porly i started shooting in febuary and shot 3 1st class scores by mid july, bowman is taking a little more work but thats to be expected
get a target out there at 80yrds/70m and shoot it

I will mate, work on form and nailing 560 for a portsmouth this winter (once will do), and get real serious next year. Will shoot my alies until I get to 80, then I'll see.

Hoping to be strong enough to gt to 36/40 lbs at some stage next year.

I made MB in my first full outdoor season. Before Archery I shot target rifle and found it quite easy to transfer from one discipline to the other. So much depends on natural ability,how much practice you put in and how many shoots you attend.

My first comp result was a 2nd class (in a howling gale), my second was a 1st class and my third a bowman score - so yes, a year is possible.

I made bowman in my second outdoor season, so its doable Porly.
(and I've only started putting in the gym/strength/fitness work since I've made bowman. Tho I do have a slight poundage advantage over you - 42ish# on fingers)

Man, that's impressive!

Not sure I have that much natural ability, as I don't know what that really is in archery. at 50 and 40 I can now put an arrow where I want almost (Ok, within an inch, and when I do my thing properly).

I was aiming at an actual ring on the target over the weekend, and grouped horizontally an inch either side, hitting the line twice.

Would like to nail it down over every dozen though.

That's good to hear, Kellog! That's the poundage I'd like!

I think I can do this as long as I shoot outdoors whenever I can next year, and boost up the distances every month.

Gonna go plan this if it's doable

b)they're willing/able to work for it
