My Axis came second hand, so i don't know if the grip on it has been customised to suit the previous archers shooting style (i'm assuming not as its the wooden grip), and yet i have no issue with the grip as it is. In fact the first time i shot my Axis, the grip seemed to be made exaclty for my hand and my shooting style. At the moment I'm not considering doing anything to the grip for two reasons

1: I don't have the the skills to do it with out making the handle FUBAR a couple of times

2: If it ain't broke, don't fix it

I'm seriously going to completely build my own, or have it built by someone...very thin throated, wide base grip. It's pretty much perfect now, but I want it in nice wood as my stock Seb Flute one has been butchered with expoxy resin and hockey stick tape

For a compound you can't go passed a shrewd grip.
Minimal contact except for the heal of your
palm works well for me and not modified

It's another US company that does molded-polymer custom grips, including one with a built-in finger sling! I have no idea how they compare to James Loesch's work (which is more expensive but clearly high quality & the wood looks - and probably feels - fantastic).

I'm still using the Hoyt "slim-throat" that came with my Eclipse, but have really just started to make friends with the bow so it's a bit too early for me to be hacking away at it.

I tend to disagree with the above statement, when I used to shoot dtl and Balltrap a long time ago when god was a boy, people didn't alter their stocks on their shotguns. I shot with a guy who represented England at the highest level, the gun was as it came out the box. whilst I know feel and fit is a personal and subjective matter,just because some of us don't feel the need to alter the risers grip doesn't mean we aren't serious about our sport.Regards John
