One eye or two???

This one could be interesting.

I have always sighted with my left eye closed, until recently that is. I tried shooting with both eyes open the other week and banged in a new PB.

So the question is, do you guys sight with one eye open or both eyes open???

Left eye closed for me as I shoot right handed but am left eye dominant - had to do the same when I did clay target shooting as I can't shoot left handed as it just doesn't feel right to me !

Initially I shot with my right eye closed (I shoot left-handed and am left-eye dominant), but now I try to shoot with both eyes open. I score better this way, but it feels natural to close one eye so I have to remember to use both. Hopefully I will end up doing it automatically!

My left eye is so dominant, that I can't do it with both. I hope in time, when my skills improve an d I feel more confident about my shooting, that I'll be able to do it with both.

I recently changed to shooting with both eyes (May this year(05)). My scores have subsequently improved and my shooting is far more consistent and although there probably are other factors involved I am sure the eyes is one (or two?) of them.

I would definitely recommend 2 as the way to go for recurves - except those of you who shoot R/H left eye dominant or vice versa. The change takes a bit of getting used to but well worth it.

I believe it may be different with compounds (peep sights and all that) but I'm sure there are others who can comment on that.
