Strenthening Weak Arrows

OK, I know I can change the points to lighter ones and I can also cut them down a bit.

However what is the effect of different types of vanes? I currently have Easton Diamond 2.8" vanes. If I change to 2 13/16" Spin Wings will that strengthen or weaken the arrows?

Ta,

Mike

RE: Strenthening Weak Arrows

The Spin Wings are lighter. Less mass on the back of the arrow makes for a weaker arrow. If you want to stiffen the arrow, you could try a heavier fletching such as Flex Fletch, Duravanes or QuikSpins.

Thanks! That's saved me time and effort. I'll cut the arrows 1" shorter and if that still doesn't strengthen them enough I'll get some QuickSpins. Or as these are for indoor, would 4" feathers have more mass than the Easton Diamonds?

Cheers

Mike
