All string materials stretch (with the possible exception of liquid crystal based fibres - Vectran?).
There's normal 'springy' stretch - both the sort that happens on each shot, and the sort that happens over time while you shoot - this is recoverable stretch. That is to say, the string will be the same length each time you get it out of the box, it just doesn't stay that way while shooting. Most strings do this. Dacron more than the fastflight/dyneema materials.
Then there is creep. That is unrecoverable stretch, where the string elongates over time, and the only way to get the string back to the correct length is to twist it. Most strings do this as well, but again fastflight/dyneema do it much less than dacron. HTH
