| I've been driving myself round the bend trying to get arrows matched to my bow. For the past six months I've been trying out various arrows that have been borrowed or bought used. I used a set of 1913s Platinums for most of the summer and managed to get my third class with them, despite the fact they dropped like lead weights at 60 yds. Finally, a set of 1616 Platinums were sorted out for me by OB (The Arrow Doctor). I tried them out on Saturday on Quicks' indoor range. I had no problem getting golds and reds once I'd sorted out my rest and sight. The whole bow needs a very thorough tuning, but even with some slight tweaks, the arrows were going generally where I wanted them to go. I *think* my form may have even altered slightly. It felt different and gave me much better scores. I haven't actually figured out what it was I was doing. My guess is that I slightly shifted where I bring my string. Whether that has to do with new arrows, I'm not sure. Granted, my shoulders are stiff and sore from a fortnight lapse in shooting, transatlantic travel and feeling under the weather for the past week. That said, I shot nearly 5 dozen arrows and was OK. Certainly getting a better result than before is encouraging. Now I can start concentrating on other areas of my shooting.

| Hi, I've heard it said that, just the purchase of some new kit helps you mentally raise your game. I think theory is you don't want to let the new kit down. (That's what I tell my better half) anyway. New bow, new sight, new arrows, new button.....Help I'm running out of thing to buy. Good luck with the shooting.

| Do you have a club coach - or experienced archer to help? I am surprised that you are still using aluminium arrows - they really disadvantage you at longer distances, and are less forgiving than A/C generally. As for tuning this should not be too difficult with a bare shaft check for spine and nocking point. Your location does not help in suggesting a suitable Coach/Shop Dave
