| new limb poundage Hi Jaarus, I was faced with a similar predicament a short while ago. (See thread Samick Extremes v. Border !) My limbs didn't die, I just wanted a better sight mark for 90m and 100yds and so moved from around 38lb on my fingers, to approximately 43lb with new limbs. (Draw length 29.5") The new limbs are very much smoother and although they are heavier they are no more difficult to shoot and they are so much faster. It's obviously best if you can try them out, but given that you are going for mail order, then that's not going to happen! Are there any club members that have similar gear? I borrowed a very similar set up before I committed. It's very difficult to say one way or another, but quality limbs shouldn't stack as your old ones did so you should immediately feel the benefit. If you are going for Borders then I recall that they have a stock list where they show some bargains - I'm sure there were some 38lb medium length TXB's that may well fit the bill. Good luck ! ![]() |

| Thanks for the reply. TXBs look nice indeed but cant find a price for them on the site unless they are listed as XPBs on the price list? I believe they are the newer XP10 evolution arent they? I could be wrong there...

| I had a pair of 40# Winacts until recently and found them very nice limbs, but a little heavy for me. In comparison to the 36# Challengers I'm using at the moment, they were smoother to draw and noticably faster. The reason I got rid of them? A shoulder twinge that went away when using the 36# limbs.. T.

| Interesting - is the injury because you moved up weights too fast or an old 'war wound'? Winacts do get good praise. You on CCs as a stop gap until your shoulder gets better then? Edit - lol just noticed we have practically the same setup!

I will in time be purchasing something better than the CC's..went back to these as I still had them. Not sure if I will get anything of higher #age, probably just more efficient. T.

| When my limbs died recently ( the bow limbs this time, not my own, they've been cracking up for years! ), I moved over to Winex. They are a lot faster at 38 lbs, than either the G3's @ 38 lbs, which broke, or my old Challenger Craft@36 lbs. I've now cranked, or do I mean , uncranked the lbage down a tad, and they are still fast and smooth. Trouble is that all limbs are hand made, and suffer from human weaknesses, frailties and variations. With regard to TARKWIN'S shoulder, it's that little gremlin sitting there. Rumour has it that he even shaved his beard off last week, so the little fella now has nothing to hold on to. ![]() |

| Sadly I cannot afford either G3s or Winnex limbs ![]()

| If you get a set of decent foam carbon limbs, you will easily be able to get 2# more due to the lack of stack, as compared to the wood limbs. I didn't beleve it, but when I got my daughters carbon foam, she said it was easier to draw.........funny thing is they were about 1 1/2# more than her last set. Go for it. Flute makes some good limbs for under $300 US, which is affordable if you ask me. Good luck!

| I agree with the man above - get some Seb Flute foam/carbons. Call Custom Built, they're probably the cheapest people in the country for the SF stuff.
