oh, that was the other thing....presumably you have to specify exact sizing/spacing for the vane lines?

Nope, just specify manufacturer, model and spine.

And they are so easy to put on, just clean the shaft, peel the wrap off the backing with some tweezers, lay it down glueside up and roll the shaft onto it.

I've been tempted to get some of these at somepoint, possible when I go to univeristy, mainly because then i'm going to have money given to me for doing archery, but do they work with straight fletchings? I ask this because i really don't like using spin wings, and it wouldn't be worth me getting these if i had to use spin wings

Yes. They are just a wrap, you can stick whatever you like to them.

If you want to do it yourself, I found some signwriters vinyl on e-bay which you can print on with an ordinary inkjet printer. You can do your own designs and make spares whenever you want. You do have to be a bit careful about water soluble inks, but I have found that even the HP inks seem to be OK once they have fully dried.
