| Its your choice. However if you use the centraliser then it maynot need a doinker. The design of the rod (multi rod) allows for more flex in the rod. This will aid shock absorbtion. this is why its so popular. This is a good choice and would be recomended. As Tarkwin said get the one with the adapter on the end. Even if you dont use it you still have the option.

The stuff you've listed in your previous thread is all good - as pointed out already, get the Beiter rod with the adaptor end though. IMHO Quicks prices aren't the best around though. Compared to Targetcraft, you'd get: Beiter Blue Centraliser = £60 (I think you'll find they'll add £10 to this for the adaptor end). T'craft is £60 including the adaptor. Beiter Clicker = £9. T'craft = £7. Arten Summit II = £62. T'craft = £56 So overall, a possible saving of about £18. It might not be a lot, but it definitely pays to shop around. You dont state where you are in the UK, but if you're anywhere near Sandy in Bedfordshire, I can also highly recommend Aim4sport - their prices are excellent.

| If you are based near Dartford or east london then try Linecutter archery http://www.linecutterarchery.co.uk They dont have a shop but they will always do you right and are as cheap if not cheaper than someone like Bowsports.

| Great, so i'll stick with the centriliser. - get a beiter clicker - as for the sight, what do you think about the 'Quicks Q-sight by Cartel'? Or should I just splash out and buy the Arten Summit II? I just got sent the following buy quicks: "Mr Beiter himself recommends that you do not add weights or dampeners to the rods. The rods themselves are the dampeners and the weght is achieved by obtaining the right length rod for you. For a recurve I would suggest a 30" or a 33". |

| I'm looking at http://www.altservices.biz/cgi-bin/h...77879810888796 and it say's that if you want to add v bars you can choose 28mm if you are going to use a Beiter Pin V Bar or you can choose 16mm for all other applications. What does this refer to? Is it the adaptor thread and is it best to go for 28mm or 16mm? Thanks for the help guys p.s. what's a good arrow rest to buy? |

| it is the length of the thread that secures the rod to the bow. The 28mm is desgined to work with the Beiter Vbar. Most Vbars use a secureing bolt. The beiter rod with the 28mm thead removes the need for the bolt. I would go with the 16mm as this gives you bigger options on what vbar you may want to use in the future.

| That's interesting, I'm sure my Beiter long rod came with a weight already on it!

As to the use of aweights and doinkers with a centraliser, I tried without (35" centraliser) and then used the 'twanging the end of the limb' test to see how well the vibrations in the limb damped out. I tried various combinations of weights and doinkers and rod-end 'limb saver' and found that the optimum for MY setup was a doinker and a single end weight. This certainly produced better damping than without weights, but I didn't try longer rods (guess why!). Beiters comments about not using weights actually states the 'current trend' is towards using much longer rods without additional weights. This again will increase the weight in hand which may be deleterious for you - it can be much more tiring than having too heavy a draw weight unless your archery muscles are very well developed. Good luck with whatever setup you finally choose. ![]() By the way, I personally prefer a magnetic clicker to the blade type as they are easier to hear and they don't strip yopur fletchings off when you get it wrong! | Yeah but they dont react as quick as a blade and therefore give a delay which can allow a little creep which defeats the purpose of a clicker. Dont get me wrong they are good bits of equipment but the blade style is better and cheaper and look better.
