| Ok, that’s interesting. I am a beginner archer and although I do lift weights, I’m sure II don’t work the muscles I need for holding weight on the bow. So the Idea of a damper and a weight seems attractive. What was the single end weight and doinker that you used in your optimum set up? |

| Hi as you are new to archery please take a step back all the questions you are asking and the reply's given are valid but you appear to be taking things too fast and this will only lead to confusion and problems. Are you a member of a club if not find one local to you join and talk to their coach they will explain all about buttons, stabilisers, bracing heights and how to set up your bow failing that go to a pro shop and get them to help you. IMHO all you need to start off with is a Riser, limbs, string(with nocking point) Hoyt Superpro rest (thick backing pad to stick it on) sight(cheap) arrows, bow stringer, tab, arm guard and quiver and possibly bow stand. Leave all the other stuff until you understand it, or it can be explained in person what it does. |

You might want to take a look at The Archer's Reference. It will help with a lot of general equipment questions. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I said they can rattle after time and wearing of the moving parts. I dont know of one of those rest that hasnt developed some sort of vibration. I aint saying they aint bad. There not. There great rests, its just they can vibrate and it can be off putting.

| I would start with a sight,a hoyt supa rest(if you don't like ityou wont loose much if you throw it) and a long rod. Have a look at www.clickersarchery.co.uk they have multi rod carbon stabs made by an archer who is an engineer. A 30 inch single long rod with end weights will cost fifty pounds and fifty pence with postage included.I think they are made by David Long and he does use his own product. |

| On a slightly different tack, that's setting the rest up download the Easton tuning guide from www.eastonarchery.com . click on down loads and you will find it. while you are there you might as well down load the shaft selector as well it's free. But not as good as some other programs that you have to pay for. |

| Thanks for the help guys. I joined a club (whiteleaf bowmen) about a week ago, so I'll talk to people there about stabilisers and buttons etc. I decided to go for the Arten summit 2 as my sight, bought an M4 beiter clicker and a Hoyt super arrow rest. Cheers guys Mike |
