I'm not 100% sure I need to replace the riser. However, the riser is a very old Yamaha YTSL (over 16 years - it was second hand when I bought it 16 years ago!) and I was under the impression the the limb design is different to the new limbs.

Of course, if that is not the case then I could keep the riser and have a bit more to spend on the limbs.

Being off work for a long time ( hip operation ) makes the budget tight. I just want some thing to shoot indoors that allows me to use the big girly ten instead of the small compound ten.

Probably around £30 - something to put towards more equipment really! I haven't bought a new bow yet, but I'll keep youpopsted.

Just for the record it's a 68" bow, 36# @ 28" Border limbs.

I run the risk of being thought to be biased here as I want to buy the old Yamaha, but do you think it is wise to go up in poundage on a 16 year old riser? I think you would be better off considering the TOZ riser that Tarkwin is selling on Ebay. Then there must be some one here who has a 40lb pair of limbs they could sell you?
Add to that the question of arrows. If you are going up in poundage you will need new arrows. A more modern riser will alow you to use carbon or ACC type arrows and a fast flyte string.
