Quicks trainer?

Its me again

Quicks trainer - TD01 or similar! has anybody used one, owned one or even currently using one?

How do you find it?

What other limbs can be fitted to it later, when skills improve? If at all?

Can it be a adapted for stabalizers & balances etc.

Are there any real limitations to it before you need to head down the road of bespoke?

This is the type of bow that our club has oodles of.

they are much the same as many of the wooden riser trainer bows....

the limbs to suit are available separately, up to about 36#, my understanding is that the limbs from these can be used on several of the non-international limb trainers, but don't quote me on this.

They come with threads for sights, buttons and stabiliser/longrod.

As a starting point, you can't really go wrong with one of these.

My only word of warning, our club has lost 3 pairs of limbs this year, all of which were purchased a little over 12 months ago.

Hi T
Thanks for the input - Good to know about the 36" limbs as a max, as I will probably be using 70" total.

And the Rolan Trainer according to Quicks website. As Tarkwin said it what everyone starts off on during training courses etc - if you are doing a course check with the guys running it as most will allow you to continue using club equipment for a bit while you look for a bow of your own.

And thats 36lb limbs not 36" in length

Ok thanks

I stand corrected...Mind you with my draw, I'll probably be pulling 36# anyway...lol

I brought one a couple of weeks ago under the Polaris/Samick badge, tho I understand all the 'wooden trainer' bows are essentialy the same.
Being a novice, and only realy able to shoot on Sundays I can at least practice my form and build up my draw weight at home during the week.
The riser dosn't have any fancy limb ajustments but is bushed for a long rod and button, you'll need a self adhesive arrow rest.
Limbs are not international tho apparrently Roland and Surprise limbs will fit,
so there maybe a higher draw weight. The Polaris limbs I have fitted atm are
MARKED as 26lb @ 68" tho in practice when drawn to 29" they registar @ 29 lb.
Bear in mind that (afaik) you should only use Dacron strings, and if calculating the arrow spine (from the Easton chart in particular) you should treat the draw weight as 4lb less than actual.
On the whole I'm happy with mine , I can at least say "I've got a bow", and it beats shouting 'TWANG' and throwing a arrow at the target
