Last year was £465 for the weeks course & £160 for the week end courses.

WOW! You lot are amazing - many thanks for all the info - d'uh, definitely should've checked the Archery UK mag before posting....

Isle of Skye course does sound attractive coz I shoot barebow as well as recurve and would like to try field one day, but yes, a long way to go...

I'm really grateful for all the dates n stuff, will find out more and sign up when I've booked time off work. Thinking about it, I might only be able to cope with a weekend course tho, that "taking apart and rebuilding" thing sounds a bit traumatic. I did a coaching course last year with the Sussex county coaches that I found quite upsetting at times, don't get me wrong, there was absolutely nothing wrong with them, but I found the whole process of being closely scrutinized and challenged quite disturbing - maybe it's just the ingrained habits of the past 3 1/2yrs that are slow to change but I felt very vulnerable. I got a lot out of it tho, shooting improved without a doubt.

Many thanks again, y'all.

It is worth the effort. competition runs from tuesday to friday with a farewell shoot on saturday morning but the practice range is usually in operation from the sunday afternoon before so it is perfect for a week's holiday.
Full program is double FITA, clout and field with a prize giving ceilidh on friday night (plus last morning fun shoot for those who sober up enough) but you can do as much or little as you want
Entry form will probably be available from January 07.

Not the sort where you go to an activity centre and "do" archery for half a day, in between abseiling and white water rafting, but a proper week's coaching with good quality instruction. I thought GNAS did a "personal development" week, but haven't found anything on their website (tho I haven't checked the mag yet). I've got to book hols off of work for next year, and would like feedback from anyone who's been on any course and how they found it, worth the money, what they got out of it in terms of improved shooting, etc.
thanks and good shooting tomorrow morning

There is always Dunster week. No coaching but a full weeks shooting available. Held early June.
Follow link and select Dunster week in left hand frame for info on this years week.

Many thanks for all the info re. Skye/Dunster, etc, but I guess I'm after some coaching really. Got 1st Class last year, so far have missed out on Bowman this year, so will get some coaching and try again next year.
