| You should really only measure your progress against yourself, it doesn't matter what other folk do, just what you do. Me, I took years to reach 500, hung around 500 - 530 for two years, last year made the jump up to 550 -560, then last week managed to put in a 504. (that did feel a bit of an ouch, I must admit.) Scored on friday a 547 so breathed a sigh of relief! Do you consistently shoot round and about a particular score? If you do, set yourself a challenge of maybe bringing up your lowest scoring arrows to the next number, eg making your sixes sevens, it's amazing how many points you can jump up without scoring more tens. Go for it and enjoy your shooting. ![]() |

| I'm guessing by virtue of the fact that you shoot compound, then your scores are going to be slightly higher than us recurvers. Personally, when I shot indoors for the first time (a whole month ago) I hated it with a passion! Couldn't see where the arrows were landing, couldn't get a decent sight mark, and the whole thing felt totally alien to shooting outdoors. One month on, and although I'm not breaking any records, I feel more comfortable with shooting indoors now, and my scores are gradually going up - did a PB yesterday on the Green Dragon shoot of 473, so things are going in the right direction, and I'll probably stick with it through the winter. If you'd asked me a month ago though, I'd have told you I was going to give up indoor shooting, but like anything, perseverance is the key.

| I shoot Limited compound, so no release aid and no scope I shot a 547 for a portsmouth last sunday. yes I get the advantage of a 24 lbs holding weight but if I had been using a 24 lbs recurve and had put the arrows in the same place the score would have been nearer 577. So I was wondering how well recuvre archers would score if they had to use the small ten which is usually put down as an X on the score sheet. |

| Jerry, try it the other way round. Shoot a Portsmouth and score it both inner and outer ten if you really want to compare with recurves.

| Looks like I will have to. If no one comes up with a score. |
