Sebastien flute had a long relationship with yamaha (winning the olympics in 1992 using the eolla and several other national and international awards with various yamaha kit). He has been an archery designer, manufacturer and shop owner since the mid 90's. Flute had a very large influence on the design of the yamaha super feel riser in the late 90's hence yamaha made an extremeley limited edition of left handed risers for him
So it is fair to say that rather than being a copy the sebastien flute riser is an evolution of a riser designed and shot by the above named archer and very much a welcome addition to the market.

I kinda knew all that oddly, but couldn't work out where from, especially considering I've only been surfing anything to do with archery in the past fortnight or so. I've been wracking my brains trying to work out where I saw something about it.

Then I was looking at a retailer's site, their description of the SF riser summarises basically what ASW said, that's where I must have seen it I guess!

Sebastian Flute, French Winner of the Olympic Gold Medal in Barcelona 1992 has designed a Bow in conjunction with Korean company Win&Win. Based on the Yamaha Style of Bow which he used to Win Gold.
I can stop bashing my head against the wall trying to remember now.

ASW is quite right. Flute was shooting a Superfeel in Atlanta in 1996 except it wasn't forged at all, it was a staright forward one off machined riser designed to look the same as the Superfeel. AFAIR his backup was an Eolla but that may well be inaccurate info (my bad if so).

My understanding is that W&W did not buy Yamaha Archery - they bought the machinery - and I think just the riser machinery. Shame cos there was definitely some mileage in the "blister" limbs.

But yes, clearly the SF 26" SF is an evolution of the 24" Yammy SF2 which was an evolution of the 23" Yammy SF1. Only question is will the SF SF2 be a 26" riser

Either way - nice riser IMHO - buy it with confidence

Stretch
