Worst story I have ever heard was from a shop. One of Tony's previous staff memebers, a chap named Jason (great string maker just a bit hollow in the head) was testing a bow in the shop. he drew the bow and shot. Caught his nipple ring on the way through. His white shirt turned red. Made me laugh for ages after I heard it.

What with his exploding Helix? Yeah that was pretty bad. Fortuntly for him he is a hardcore AIUK'er and we have hard heads and little to damage.

yeah. it was a compound and it was unteder pressure in a handheld bow press. It failed and the cable (with attached nodules for adjustment) ripped open his throat. Very upsetting. I think archery is the one of a few sports where more injuries happen outside of the competeing and practicing. Most other sports the injuris accur during the taking part.
