Stylist risers

Hi, i'm close to finishing my improvers course so i need to consider a bow. Club kit is pretty much worn out and the highest weight is 24#, so i was looking at rental, mainly due to the ability to change the limbs at no extra cost - bar p+p until i get up to a comfortable weight.

So, my question is, what is the descriptive difference between the Supreme / Sapphire risers apart from £200 ?

Cheers

Hi,

Main difference is that the Saphire is the 23" riser and the Supreme the 25" - they have stopped making the 25" Saphire. The Supreme is therefore slightly heavier.

Not sure, but the Supreme is a fairly light riser, and bloody good for all that it's an old design. If it was made with Hoyt-style limb pockets, I'd certainly give it a go.

If stylist could get W&W to make some limbs for it, I'd DEFINITELY buy one

Am i right in thinking that a shorter riser makes the bow slower and less critical than a longer riser?

Haven't heard that one.

23 inch riser plus
Short limbs = 64 inch bow
Med limbs = 66 inch bow
Long limbs = 68 inch bow

25 inch riser plus
Short limbs = 66 inch bow
Med limbs = 68 inch bow
Long Limbs = 70 inch bow.

Thank you that fills another gap in my understanding. Never realised how technical archery would be.

Keep the advice coming, i'm like a sponge...can't get enough

Good intermediate bow! I like very much. Easy to tune.

Saphire is the kiddies version. Supreme is nice riser, gents version. Go for the hire option, is very good - pay what £5.50 a week and get a full kit, exluding stabilizers?

Have shot very well with mine, and many good archers have shot them!

Watch out for the limbs if you do get one - we've had some trouble, I think their checking is getting a little lax, they are very helpful though.

OK, so the general consensus seems to be good. What sort of condition can i expect the kit to be in? I' guessing it will not be new.
