Thinking of what Santa might bring ...

Well it's actually what I'm going to buy myself for christmas ... going to get a new bow, thinking of a helix or nexus with G3 limbs. I'm going to be travelling from the North of Scotland and wondered if anyone had any comments regarding shops I could visit. Obviously a lot of travel is needed (at least 300m in each direction) so I don't want to have a wasted trip. I definitely need to try before I buy and need lots of advice and patience regarding exactly what to buy ... any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don't forget to stop at Border Archery when you pass through the Borders. You might just save yourself some petrol money .

Your very very very lucky, as you've got Border Bows near to you. I'd love to go and visit Sid, but you can. Make sure you do! As they make THE best limbs available (IMHO).

The Helix is fantastic, the Nexus not as much, but thats dependent on the person shooting the riser.

Kae.

I would suggest Winex limbs. From a number of sites and polls it has come to my attention that the Winex is the better limb. I shoot Helix with Winex and its a fantastic combination. But try both. see too may people just buy G3's (still a v good limb) but dont try the Winex or other limbs.

the g3's are a very good and well proven limb, you wont go far wrong with a set. especialy acompanied by a helix as its a fantastic riser. be warned tho they do chip very very very easy as the varnish on them is not very good. lol. but as far as limb performance goes they are great. limbs are pretty much of a muchness these days g3's, samick, win&win... its all down to personal preferance. be carefull if you look at samick limbs tho on a hoyt riser as the length may not be 68" a lad at my club has a matrix with masters limbs and to make a string to fit it i had to make the string an inch longer as a 63 1/2" string which would fit a 68" bow was way to short. strange hey!!!
