One question Stretch, which I've always wanted to ask - did you go to Border with your problem and talk to them about it? In my experience - and those of other archers I know - they've fallen over themselves to help people who have problems with their bows. It's the main reason I recommend them.

(Please don't take this as confrontational, by the way. I'm genuinely interested).

like with most things i guess its horses for courses.

always amazes me how highly people regard border though, considering no-one is on their payroll and dont sponsor.

as far as i know and this is second hand info.. fangeli used to shoot border limbs untill win and win camealong with lots of cash and sponcership.
a small family run company cant hope to compete against these guys in terms of what they can offer in sponcership, so i guess their reputation is built on their quality and customer service.
i think thats a good thing.

I've shot Borders and Winexs... and i couldn't tell you which ones i prefer as i'm in love with both, and if i ever had a spare set up, i'd go with a a set of Borders to match my Winex's....

Someone in my club was complaining about his border limbs and how they wern't grouping... i asked to put an end through them and after 3 shots i needed to replace 2 knocks.... but its all down to personal preferance

I shoot Axis/TXG and love them to bits...I'd never be parted with them so don't even ask ;-). My only gripe with them is that with 41lbs on the fingers from 68 in I need to pull my sight *right* in (Shooting 29.5 ACE's with quickspins), other than that they're gorgeous. Silky smooth too :->.

I have a distinct suspicion that you could be shooting any limbs on the planet and the arrows would still imitate a Hammond organ in terms of flight capability with those fletchings.

I know this as it cropped up during our Coach Course some years ago. I can't remember if it definitively stated "Border" but the Senior Coaches/Tutors were able to identify them as "Border" due to the code on them. It seemed that Hoyt were looking for more capacity in limbs and used several manufacturers including Border. Perhaps Meddler can enlighten us/verify this as he was one of the main men on my course.

Made me laugh! I know this is slightly 'off topic' but I bought a set of quickspins and watched my sightmarks drop through the floor! Most expensive set of fletchings in the world - they were shot for 2 hours and then swiftly replaced with spin wings.

I would supplant your hammond organ flight characteristics comparison and in its stead put the mighty Wurlitzer or even a small oil tanker. Ah well, each to his own.

I must say, the Hoyt/Border limbs don't sound likely, but there's one easy way to find out - drop Sid an email

I got them down there with Kellogs G3's I think - but that was with about 43lbs on the fingers from 66in, which could probably have put them into orbit.

I believe "flight like a shot duck" was the appropriate phrase - but i've a hatred of spinwings as they kept falling off and I couldn't get them on straight. Have shot them ever since and for short stuff they're cracking. Am thinking about going to kurlies next season. We see...
