I've just outfitted myself with exactly that, and I'm really delighted with the setup. (Did I just say I outfitted myself? I actually had help - a lot of help - from DANAGE Archery, Mikael spent the better part of an afternoon with me to get everything sorted out. I highly recommend finding a retailer you like & trust, and doing the same!)

The eclipse felt really good; lightweight and especially good at reducing vibration & hand shock (the joints in my bow arm & shoulder are constantly reminding me that I'm not getting any younger, so this was important). If you want one, buy it now! It's been discontinued from 2007, and will only be around as long as retailers have it in stock.

Epic limbs don't have the glamourous image that carbon limbs do, but I'm very happy with mine. I had fully expected to buy some kind of entry- or mid-level carbon limbs, but the Epic limbs truly felt so much better. I read somewhere on this forum that limb design is just as important as material, so I imagine that this is a factor; I imagine the quality of the wood also figures in.

Good luck with your shopping adventure! Buying archery equipment has a kind of snowballing effect on one's credit card balance, I've found...

Thanks for the advice, I'm going to ask the coaches at the club on sat and then take a trip to Quicks.
Glynhenry - Your right about my technique changing, I used to shoot barebow recurve so things like my anchor point have changed significantly!
Someone today mentioned a kisser as a valued addition to anyone's kit? I know what they are but are they as good as he was making out?

201 (b) (ii) In addition, one attachment is permitted on the string to serve as a lip or nose mark.

Yes, kissers are allowed.

Kissers are good for checking your consistency of draw. Like all accessories they are only as good as the archer makes them.
Yes they are allowed in competition. Look at the korean archers at the last Olympics!!!!

There's some good advice here Fun.

I finished my beginners' course nearly 6 months ago and decided to splash out. For me the best route seemed to be get a good riser and quality fittings (sight, button, rest) as they're likely to last a long time and I'll not not need to change them as I progress.

Savings were made on the limbs, as they're likely to need changing at some time in the coming year or so. At my stage, Challenger Crafts at £85 are more than sufficient to see me through the early grades and hopefully a little beyond.

It's a good time to be buying with retailers looking to offload 'old' stock.

Good luck with whatever choices you make.
