i had the same sort of issue when i got my new indoor arrows , i am right handed , set the arrow rest , button etc up for the new arrows but they went left , adjusted the sight pin until it ran out of thread and tried a few things but once i asked a few questions and some of the other club members had a look at me shooting it was down to where i was lining the string up on the riser.

i now line up the string between the sight pin and the riser problem sorted

may be worth a try ?

thanks all gives me a few things to try, i can up the draw weight on the bow in two increments so one at a time, change the piles, is the other, i know the bow itself is ok ie string aliegnment etc i used to shoot around the 560 portsmouth mark with the longer arrows, serves me right for being a cheap skate or spending to much time shooting L/B

I had the same problem. Increased draw weight by 2 pounds and put heavier points in, now they are great.

The thing about replacing brass nocking points with thread. How much difference does that make as I'd quite like to drop the draw weight a bit again?

Also what do you use? Serving thread?

Cheers

Yes it does make a noticable difference as will reducing the strands even by just 1, I use dental floss and finish it off with a dab of super glue carefully smoothed off. You can also use serving thread or even cotton.

I shoot old 2115 X7's (I had a lot of spare ones) indoors with 41lb on the fingers and I have had change from 18 to 16 strands (fast flight) and insert Jazz 1816 points into the back of the X7 nibb points to get them to tune properly.

My Fatboys bareshaft into the next target on the left. The fletched ones do hit what I aim at. The bow is set up fine, I could raise the power of the limbs but am happy with 43# on the fingers. I am using an 18 strand string with nylon and superglued nocking points. 160 gn points and 5" fletchings and the recticule 4mm extra offset to the left ( over outdoor setting for different arrows). Next season I will be using 16 strand ff strings and the poundage may go up a pound or two. But for now the equipment is shooting well. I have to concentrate as I am the weakest link in the system.

im also shooting arrows that are way to stiff for my bow when i shoot a bareshaft there way off but when fleched they fly lovely im also very happy with the way my bow shoot's strange but stiff arrows seem to fly and group well. also 18 strand , and 43bs on fingers .

I have got the bow pretty well tuned. If I'm removing brass nock points the replace with thread or wahatever, will it make a difference to the vertical tune...

erm...

should I put the nocking point in the same place is what I mean.

Fletched grouping is coming on nicely. Have had a series of annoying bugs and colds so have only shot twice since the beginning of November... very annoying. So I am going to build my strength back and get my grouping consistent again before I play anymore. Actually I may not even play anymore. I find I have great groups for about 10 ends and then start tiring really quickly at the moment. It is soooo frustrating.

Replacing brass nocks with thread will allow the separate nocks to be closer to the arrow nock. The position on the string should be more or less the same, but I would do a bare shaft test to check and adjust a little if necessary. Then apply some glue to keep them in place.

Just got round to trying replacing the nocks... thought I'd wait til after the Stafford.

What a difference! Wish I'd done it before now!

Used serving thread and finished with superglue as suggested. Was able to wind down the limbs a bit as I wanted as well as stiffening the button up a bit which is excellent. So thanks for that advice.

Nocking point has a nicer fit with the arrow. The bow sounds nicer too bizarrely. Best bare shaft tune I have got so far and I'm pretty sure I could get it spot on had I the inclination.

Thanks

TA
