| How long have you been shooting?, whats your draw length?, how much do you want to spend?, why do you want to go to 45lbs ( I manage quite well outdoors and indoors shooting 41lbs). One of the most common faults I see is people shooting too high a draw weight. They may be ok for the first half of the tournament but after 72 arrows their form goes to pot and for the last couple of dozen (when the targets at the easiest distance) they can barely shoot.

| My 40# Winacts gave me 43# on the fingers. I have reduced the pressure on the limb bolts for my 42# Winex to give me 43# on the fingers, so no problems with arrow spine. The new limbs are faster, the sight marks are higher and the arrows penetrate the target deeper. There is less physical strain on pulling back the string due to the nature of the limbs. So I should not get as tired as before (never suffered much) The arrows have a flatter tragectory. The limbs are more stable in a variety of weathers, and I have spent over £300 for new limbs which will probably soon be surpassed by something new and better. Still I am happy as my pb's have improved and shooting in windy conditions is not as detremental to the scores. |

| I have Hoyt Vectors on my recurve. Thought they were great! Not available anymore (unless you dig deep on the internet) but I think the M1 limbs are pretty much the same. Haven't used any other companies but I'm sure they are all good! |

| Try the lot - Hoyt, Border, Samick, W&W etc. Then pick the ones that you like the best. |

i was shooting 48bs , winex labeled 42bs with a 30inch draw I WAS OVER BOWED BIG TIME wasent shaking looked ok but droped 1oo points on a york i dont think any recurve shooter should go over 42 43bs , ive had to turn my bow down and shorten my draw lenth buye useing a clicker just to get down to 44bs , wish i had 40bs winex . speed is good to a point but speed cant compensate for good form. |

| Bit of a sweeping generalisation that. There are many gent recurve archers who shoot over that weight and do very well. It would be more accurate to say that any archer considering shooting above the low 40s - or even a little lower in some cases - should consider whether they can handle the weight and whether they're going to put enough practice in to be able to work their way up to doing so. |

| Was gonna post a similar question myself as i`m contemplating new limbs currently shooting Hoyt Kinetic`s (wood/carbon) marked 36# wound up to max with a draw length of 26.5" giving 36# on the fingers now i can get on the target at 100yrds/90m but my form suffers as i`m stretching the draw too much and loosing stability i`m fairly confident i can up the poundage and am thinking 40# unfortunately try before you buy doesn`t seem to be an option ![]() i`m the only one at my club using "short" limbs however i have drawn 40# med limbs with no difficulty and my local shop doesn`t hold any in stock and the limbs would be a special order so the big choice is which G3`s or Border TXG`s sigh.. decisions.. decisions..

| Steve, get some ACE's your money will be better invested in improving performance with them over new limbs though if you can stretch to it reward yourself with both seen as your shooting so well of late,
