Question Newbie Question about bow length

Just curious (and a bit lazy); when bow lengths are stated(66", 68", 70", etc.) How is this measured? I'm assuming that it's the length of the bow 'straightened' out but if someone could clarify this I would be greatfull.

Thanks

Bow length is measured along the back (trhe side facing away from you) from tip to tip following the cuve of the limbs and riser.

Thanks, that makes sense. I assume the riser is measured in the same way?

That is the length of Riser and limbs.

The length is the measure of Riser and limbs in total.
So a 25" riser (pretty much standard) and long limbs gives a 70" bow.
25" riser (pretty much standard) and medium limbs gives a 68" bow.
25" riser (pretty much standard) and short limbs gives a 66" bow.

and then with a 23" riser it's 2 inches shorter than that.

There are also some risers that are 24" just to be difficult.

Kae.
