Cracked limbs.

Just a question about when do limbs crack or split. Is it only when they are under pressure of some kind or can they spontaniously crack.

Limbs only tend to crack when put under pressure. Ie damaged in transit or when in use on the bow.

Cracks show up more when the bow is strung, because the limbs are under tension, and thus cracks "open up".

Any particular reason?

another cause of limb cracking is when your bow follows the last poorly shot arrow to the target.
