| 1)Did you check your reference point? 2) Was your button screwed in? In my experience it's most likely to be one of those..

| I have a problem that I have only just recognised, that may be relevant. When I set myself, I turn my head until it "hits the stops", and take that to be a consistent position. However, because of an old injury, neck rotation can be reduced in cold weather, so the stops come early. Also, if I am carrying a cold (sore throat) this can also alter my head position without me really knowing about it. What I have to do is find some other way of setting my head that will not be affected by this.

| Yes. At our indoor venue we shoot Portsmouth so it was just the same. I have been a little under the weather over the holiday, but seem to be OK now. I put it down to loss of "muscle memory" due to the break. I will just have to see on Sunday if I have to adjust back, or if it realy is a change in my technique.

| Was it the position of your head?? This sometimes happens to me, I have no idea what I do but it must be the same - at some point I must revert back to 'normal' and have to move the windage back!! I'll watch this thread closely ![]()

| So, not a wind issue! (should I rephrase that?) The left to right landing of arrows is one of the delicate aspects of the shot to make repeat. Even when shooting six consecutive arrows, there is often a bigger spread left to right than up/down. Specially when the archer has reached the stage where the references and draw length are well established. Very subtle changes in balance between bow arm and draw arm can produce clear differences at the target. Storing the feelings from one end to the next can challenge many archers. Shooting after a lunch break can be even worse. You can see where this is going. It will be very interesting to read any follow up on this after Sunday's shoot. Much could be learnt then, if you can find out what brings about the return or otherwise. If you know how to make arrows go left or right; you would be better placed to keep them where you want them and have a strategy for putting things right should it happen again. |

| May well have been. But seriously, many thanks for the guidence on this. I always try to find a postive even when things are going to "H*** in a hand cart", but I was finding that hard on Sunday. Tomorrows another day.
