| Back in the dim and distant past when I upgraded by first bow which had glass limbs to one with carbons, the first thing I found was that my shooting was more consistant, regardless of the weather. As I had it explained to me at the time, the carbon limbs were less likely to change their performance characteristics with temperature, moisture etc than the glass limbs. It seemed to make sense at the time.

| Perhaps I should have mentioned that the static air temp was around the 0C mark and with the wind chill it must have dropped that down to -3 or -4. |

| Isn't wind chill a subjective figure? I thought it's the temperature that we would feel IF the wind wasn't blowing. If you're interested, there is a formula for calculating wind chill... EWCT = 33-([18.97 * vV - V + 37.62]/[18.97 * vVr - Vr + 37.62]) * (33 - T) where T = air temp in C, V = wind speed in km/hr and Vr = average walking speed. Doesn't solve your problem but it may win you a point in the next pub quiz

| Wind chill is the temp that is recorded taking into account the wind. |

Could be you cooling down. by the time you realise it, it could be too late . I've been there,,, shot in a tourny' some time back where the wind was a little cool to say the least. Didn't have the right clobber on & paid the price, also, I neglected to keep up the exersizes to keep the muscles warm. Still, a lesson learned ![]()

| <Sigh> Wind chill only effects living beings - not innaninate objects! I know someone that shot synerzy limbs (With titanium in them), he was finding outside in the cold they were not at all consistant, but inside they were fine. Shot a different set of limbs outdoors, worked fine. Lesson? Metal contracts when it's cold. Carbon does to a lot lesser extent (almost unnoticeable), not sure about glass or foam.

| I have been having a hunt around the web and there seems to be no technical information from the manufacturers on their limbs apart from the PR blurb which actualy tells you nothing. All the manufacturers like to tell you that the limbs are stable in a wide variety of conditions but they don't say specify exactly what that means. I am sure they will have this information and could tell you exactly how a limb performs at any temperature or in a specific set of conditions. |
