Unless you are a high draw weight archer, where rod stiffness is the limitation, the above is probably the best criteria.

Remember that different bows have different sight mounting positions and different riser bushing positions with respect to the grip so its better to go for a shorter rod. You can always lengthen the rod with extenders and V bar mounting. If you max the rod length with your current bow it may be too long for your next riser. As your draw weight increases and you need more bow 'weight' then you can add weights on the end of the rod and to V bar twins as well as gettting a longer extender.
