Wink Used to be able to see sight with both eyes!

OK for the past ten years or so I have shot wityh both eyes open, no problems at all,
Now I`m finding that to see my sight and string alignment I have to at least partially close my left eye. Is this because I now need reading glasses? has anyone experienced similar problems?

Got the same thing but in reverse oddly enough. I started off sighting through the dominant eye, but shortly after being diagnosed as a Boots opticians customer, I found that I was able to 'see' the target much better with both eyes open - string picture is better, scores went up. So far, no-one has been able to give an answer that sounds feasible

Exclamation

I must be wierd when I first started shooting I shot with non dominant eye shuttered with a gismo device. I use reading glasses for pc work "autoCAD" allday. My problem is people say where do I line the string. The answer is I don,nt I can,nt see my string when on full draw my string is centered on my chinn with the sight on the gold. I now shoot with both eyes open. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me.:christmas

I shoot compound and have just started shooting with both eyes open. Sooo much better. I don't need glasses. ( contact lenses are great)

Smile

Both eyes open, i see the sight ring with a + in it imposed on the face, seems natural and for me its more like shotgun than rifle technique.

Outdoors I don't normally have a problem. Indoors because of the lower lighting levels, with my glasses on I can't see the sight let alone the string!

My solution indoors is to shoot without glasses - can see the sight and the string and just aim at that fuzzy yellow blob. For me more comfortable then trying to shoot with one eye closed.

I have just started to have trouble with this. Up to now dominant eye open, no problem. For some reason I'm now struggling to keep the other eye shut. I don't seem to have a problem visually in either case (other than changing sight-marks) but as it isn't something that I'm doing consistently I'm all over the shop!

Going to forget about trying to see my sight ring now and use a larger diameter ring, and just look at the target. Will try this at frostbite tomorrow and keep you posted.

Great news, changed back to my beiter sight tunnel (large aperture) and shot 330 for a frostbite on a frezing cold saturday, so I gues the answer is when you cant see your sight anymore, get one so big that you just look at the target!!:christmas
