thanks joe (and everyone else) for the opnions

after today i think i was actually seeing two different issues and wrongly thinking theyre part of the same thing

at the competition i shot today i took some deoderant with me to check for clearance issues - after 2 dozen arrows the bow still looked like this -

- and the fletchings i sprayed remained unmarked too so clearance is fine

the arrow movement IS probably therefore down to tuning issues i didnt see at the short distances i had available to shoot at the time and i need to get to the club and do some tuning at longer distances

having shot the western today in near perfect (windwise) conditions i think the left impacts are down to me still trying to get to grips with an OBeron faced tab again - the nature of the material seems to me to hold the string slightly if you dont get a totally clean release and that causes me to pull it (the string) to the right slightly kicking the bow (and arrow obviously) to the left

net effect - even if the arrows are displaying not-quite-in-tune behaviour when i get a good release they ARE still hitting where im aiming (since in todays conditions i could discount wind effects)

time for another tuning thread - some more time spent playing with bareshafts - and loads more work on my release

slainte rob
