Thumbs up Good Medival History Site

Canadian Assoc. of Ancient and Medieval Archery at: http://caama.ca/outreach.html .Some very interesting stuff ,especially the Texts which include Samuel Johnson on Ascham and the complete text by Froisart.Tend to forget about the Colonies, prepared to bet they are not French-Canadian.Very Good.

No, they're Ontario based, which means they're about as French Canadian as I am (I grew up just over the border).

Essential information

Bonjour Clicki, Also in the Texts is Taybugha's "Essential Archery" which has the details on how to string your bow while in deep water, what with Global warming and all that it might be worth knowing. We should be prepared!

My pleasure, eh!

Well, there is ski archery, so why not swim archery?

Now Clicki,I don't think you are taking this seriously. Just been re-reading Tay bugha and it reminded me of my favourite bit of archery advice:" How to shoot an enemy who is down a well armed with a spear", I haved looked down plenty of wells since reading this and so far all I have found is a couple of shopping trolleys and an old bike,no spearmen, live in hope. Also in Chapter 25 is the "Incendiary egg", going to have to try that, though being sensible I think I will use a golfball, Health and Safety and all that.

Greenman, darling, I take everything about archery seriously. I also love swimming, so to be able to combine two things I love would be fabulous. Personally, I haven't seen any wells around, but I do live about 10 miles from a town called Wells. Perhaps I'll go there today and look for spearmen!

Glad to hear you are taking it seriously, I was beginning to think that there was a frivolous element on this forum. However, regarding swimming. I have always regarded that as an evolutionary backward step, afterall life evolved FROM the sea and I have had no inclination to go back, mind you I do quite like climbing trees, not sure what you can read into that.

Ah, but no! What happens when the Greenhouse Effect causes the poles to melt and we're surrounded by water a la Waterworld? Then there will be an evolutionary need to swim! Or climb trees if there are any tall enough.

I'm not just a hat rack, my friend!
