BCY Making A Bowstring CD-ROM

A CD-ROM by Frank Pearson for BCY, showing how to make compound bowstrings and cables, plus useful stuff like tying nocking points properly, how to tie a D loop and how to serve in a peep sight. It also shows a clever way of finishing off servings without messing around with scrap bits of serving.

The CD-ROM is concerned entirely with compound strings and cables, but most of it is applicable to recurve. Big clear pictures and a wobbly-but-informative video make this a very useful resource. The modest price (£6.91 from Alternative, £8.50 from Quicks) makes it great value for money. Recommended!

Contents:

Make a Cable
Special Knots

Two Color String Video

TJ kindly gave me purple string material that I took to Aardvark to show me how to make strings. They were happy to do this but the question of why I wanted to do this became a great debate in the shop with other customers there at the time. Neil reckons it takes about 30 strings before you truly make a good string!! So I watched intently as he made my new purple strings (I now have 4 thanks to the 2 TJ made for me!!).

Nah, it doesn't take 30 strings! Three or four perhaps, if you've got some decent advice from a book, web site, CD-ROM, fellow archer etc.
