Scottish Coaching Conference

Just like to give meddler a pat on the back for organising a really good conference up north here this past weekend. The info imparted to us by Chris Jones and Keith/Christine Gascoigne was top notch IMHO. Great to get it from the "horses mouth". Hazel Elliot's summary of the FITA Coach Conference was very good too and it was complete with some of Murray's photos of pretty leaves and things in Korea.

Well done, Iain. We were all kept on our toes with the changing program; it definitely added an element of spice to the weekend. The guests/speakers were absolutely top notch and reinforced much of what I believed and taught me a lot of new stuf, especially in the world of compounds. It was also good to meet so many of my contemporaries from Scotland and to talk about Scottish coaching issues in the casual networking lounge.

It was my first time at Largs and the venue was ideal for the event especially the opportunity to shoot and watch the Scottish squad under training.

Roll on next year.

True, Dave... I was there, and I was one of the last out of the ba... er, informal networking lounge...

I didn't have a hangover either.

Our timetable was written down, with timings for all the activity... except it had the caveat that timings could change on the whim of the organiser. But that was because people wanted coffee breaks... Coffee breaks!?!?!?

Or as Wellington once said... "The battle plan rarely survives first contact with the enemy".

Thank you all for your kind comments.

Now what do I do next year?

Years ago on training courses they had a "coffee break" every hour for the druggies to go inhale tobacco smoke. Was it that sort of break ?

Can only think of one who inhales fumes from burning dried leaves.. He cut a fairly lonely figure outside in the wind and rain...
