anyone like to give us some coaching?

strathclyde uni (in Glasgow) archery club is about to have its first session of the year...and we still dont have a coach...and none of us really know what we are doing beyond the basics of "stand like this, hold it like this and point it that way"

so does anyone feel like coming along and coaching us?
or can anyone recomend a coaching book or video?

im afraid we are pretty strapped for cash so cant really pay anything as a club but individuals might pay a little for some coaching.
we meet on wednesdays 4-6 and fridays 4-7

the next few weeks will be more or less completely taken up by training of new members...such fun!

The Scots pride themselves on their coaching, Edingburgh University Alumini (Ithink) have the best archers in the world (they think) so surely they can offer help?

Unfortunately the times you shoot make it impossible for a poor working soul to get my butt over from Edinburgh (not that I'm a coach - just a formerly proficient tinkerer )

Good luck with your search.

Ah well, now... it's on a Saturday, so that wouldn't work...

Not only that, but since I am more adiposely gifted than your beloved, it would probably show rather more midriff than desirable...

And besides, I can sometimes be rather pleasant to people... just not very often

Novice day - Dundee

Had a good trip up to Dundee last Saturday for the SUSF Novices (and intermediates) Day.

I got the chance to eyeball elastoplast scavenger (Hi John!) and vice versa. John's photo does him no justice...

My task for the day was to bore people rigid on fitness, training and planning... although I did get the chance to meddle.

I did my usual adding an inch and a half on to people's draw length, by getting them to come into line (lucky the arrows were long enough....).

With a bit of luck, I shall get over to Strathclyde for some training sessions, soon, I hope.
