Equipment Inspection?

Looking at the target list for the SCAS FITA next Monday, I notice that there's 45 minutes allowed for "equipment inspection" and practice.

What does the equipment inspection entail? Is this because it's a WRS shoot?

equipment inspection is for all WRS shoots. some have it formally, whereby you go up to the judge before/during practice and they tick your name off. more shoots are having random spot checks now though.
a lot of the time, announcements go out ... 'if you want your equipment checked go see the judges'... so some people don't bother, until the judge hunts them down!
it's just a formality. just make sure your sight pin is legal (recurves) and your arrows are identifiable.

Just to clarify, identifiable arrows means each arrow marked, on the shaft, with your initials or name. You can include numbers but that is up to you, and it is not a requirement of the rules. additionally you need to ensure all your arrows carry the same pattern of fletchings and the same nocks.

To clarify the sight pin, if you have one of the flourescent sticks in your sight, it must not be more than 2cm in length in a straight line. If you have one that bends round to the other side of the sight, it will be more than 2cm in length, which is ok, as long as it is not more than 2cm in a straight line.

Don't forget the Judges will also want to look at your tab.

If it's held during pratice most judges will accept that your arrows may be in the target and will be happy that if your spares have your initials on all the others will too.
One judge at the shoot will be from our club and he at least won't bite!

I`m now gonna be there both days
with Sprog on Sunday I`m doing my first York and she`s doing a Bristol III (her 1st)
and today i got a call asking if we both wanted to do the Fita on Monday
in a moment of madness i said put me down for the Fita but had enough sanity not to put the sprog down for the Fita she`s only just started shooting at a target at 60yrds 70m is still a bit to far for her

This weekends weather.... cosmic

Just downloaded this from UK Weather forecasts, news and information - Netweather.tv

"Sunday is where things really take a turn for the worst as low pressure heads in toward the country. Some real uncertainty as to where precisely this will hit the UK though, currently the likeliest scenario is that it will cross the southern half of England, bringing the heaviest rain to the Midlands southwards. Monday looks another wet day, perhaps more particularly for the Northern half of the country...."

*sigh*

Cant we bring the shoot forward to today??

Bring your waterproofs folks!

Hope not, Derek has not packed up the mobile shop yet and probably has his motorbike in bits again.

Not sure if this is OK on here but if not I am sure a moderator will amend.

The mobile shop will be well stocked with all the main stuff but only so much will fit in the van and under the shelter. If there is any item that anyone desperately needs you are welcome to call the Braintree shop (tomorrow/sat we are shut today) and check that we have it and Derek will put it aside and bring it along.
