AAS Southern Shoot, Ascot, Sat May 19

Anyone taking their kids to shoot at the AAS (Lintman Archers) shoot on Saturday?

Greenwood Osterley Archers are putting out a team of about 8 kids, but rather interestingly the target lists we've been given *only* contain their names, and none of the others that will be there!

Possibly some kind of child protection thing, maybe?

Will we see any other AIUK'ers there?

I know they had some late entries so that may be why there is not a full list yet! I am going with a couple of juniors from Crowthorne (but Stylist and LilMissM are shooting elsewhere )and there should be 6 from my primary school club shooting the simple bows. Hope it is drier than last year!!!

What a great day, great shoot and a great result!

VERY windy conditions, but all the kids seemed to enjoy themselves, and it's really good to see the grassroots of this sport flourishing, and turning out potential winners for the future. There were some seriously good junior archers shooting there today.

Ffish Jnr came second in his category, shooting a Junior Western, and for the first time in a long time he was actually shooting against "proper" competition. To say he was shocked when his name was called out for the silver medal was an understatement!

DEFNITELY a shoot we'll be doing next year, and I'd recommend all parents with under 18's to give it a go.

Met Shirley too, great to see you! Thanks for the invite to the Crowthorne shoot in July, but I think it'll clash with Cranford, sadly.

Anyone seen results yet? We (Ferryfield) had a number of juniors shooting. I normally go down as equipment officer & general dogs body, but couldn't make it, this time and I can't contact our junior coach to find out how they fared

Last few times I have been as team manager I got a results sheet before I left but this did not happen this time. They did have trouble with several score sheets so maybe they are checking everything! Sorry can't remember how Ferryfield got on as I was concentrating on Crowthorne and my school club.
