Just back! And Cameron won his first comp, shot another PB of 578 for a Junior Windsor and was a happy chappy at the end of the day. Its a lovely shoot the Diana. I was shooting with Grant W who shot 932 only 4 points below the National record for an Albion, he also didn't put an arrow out of the 9 for the 3 dozen at 50yds. Great shooting Grant congrats on the win and it was a pleasure to watch. Me I shot to handicap nothing spectacular but our targets were really quite impressive at 60 and 50 with only an odd arrow out of the gold on some ends from all archers. And it was only Grant that lost a nock!

It turns out I was only 4 points off a national record after all (thinking it was actually 6 points away all yesterday)... the record stands at 934, I shot 932.

I can't tell you how frustrating it was starting the final distance and knowing that I couldn't get the record even if I cleaned it (which I did!).

Still, the handicap I shot was on par with a 1285 FITA. And it was a great day out!

Hope the piles and fletchings are still holding up.

We too had a great day's shooting. Alex coming away with a 860 on the Short Windsor, first to boot and youngest with a first and a BP of 228 Junior Windsor with a longbow. And what great weather for shooting in. Hubby shooting as well, but we won't go into that !!!

Congrats to all the winners and comiserations to those that didn't come away with a medal, hope you too got some personal bests.

That is a fantastic score for Alex, well done to Will as well. They both so need to be shooting the Junior Nationals at Lilleshall if you can get them in and there.

Are you at Windsor at Windsor?

Hi Shirley,
Thanks for the message.
Nope, not going to Windsor @ Windsor, as club shoot is Y / H & Bristol rounds, but we are going to the Burleigh on the Saturday.
I will need to see if there are spaces available for Lilleshall, otherwise it's the Champs for us.
Thanks again.

Brilliant score for Alex! Have to agree with Shirley, you'll have to try and get into the Junior Nationals - it's a fantastic weekend, and I'm sure he'll love it - great experience for him, even if you only come for the Sunday Bristol round.

there are a number of guest houses (although they will probably be full by now), or a lot of people stay in travel lodges/inns in telford - unless you like camping, which is on site!
