Lovely Day at GDB

Just wanted to thank the Green Dragons for a lovely day at Knebworth yesterday. My first experience of league shooting, and it's hard to think how it could have been bettered. What a beautiful setting, and what great company. Anyone who gets the chance to shoot there, go for it!!

I was always the last one picked in PE (What can I say? I went to a girls' school...) so it was amazing to feel part of a team And there were so many good archers to watch and learn from... Can't wait for next season now!

Rach

Never taken part in a league shoot, if there is one in the local area, then my club doesn't take part. Not that i could make much of a difference myself, but might be fun to have this sort of shoot.

On the whole I've found archers to be non exclusive, in the main making time for others of all abilities. I'm glad they made you welcome.

I have to say that your "flag as fletch removal tool" demonstration was the high point of the day for me !

It was a lovely day for a shoot, we normally do a short metric for the league so having a national as a round for the friendly was great. I hope you get to meet the deer again sometime soon.

Robert

SShhhh!!!! No one needs to hear about that, Robert... I'm more valuable for my contribution to team spirit than my shooting

Rach
PS Be grateful I didn't shoot a deer. Think of the paperwork.

My lips are sealed.

It was great shooting on the same boss as Radar (ex retro riser comrade btw...) pretty sure he put in a 6 gold end at 60 yds - everyone shot well- Denise put in a 2nd class score with her Evo 2 and Fiona kept at it, undaunted by a bow with (guessing here) 22lb limbs she stayed the course and shot well also.

As for me, well, I'm deploying excuse 529a : my kids passed a virus on to me and I was sweating like a pig.

See all you Chiltern Archers in the spring.

I have to agree it was a great day and we were all made to feel very welcome by GDB

And have to agree Rach's novel fletch removing system was awesome to behold !!

Yes but then FR has many, many ways of stripping fletchings off

Apparently she has a vacancy for somebody to keep putting them back on

It sounds like a great day was enjoyed. Does this mean our Rachel will be bitten by the competition bug?
