I originally started with a Tab but switched to a glove which now find more comfortable. I suspect this is all down to personal preference.

I use a glove but reading this it seems a tab is worth a try - which company supplies those black widow tabs? I need quite a thick one

Got mine from Quicks, but they didn't have the ones with the calf hair facing (I want one of those!)

Yeh I quite agree, I did it the opposite way around tho' started with a glove and was absolutely not gonna try anything else... Eventually tried a tab and found it so uncomfortable and bloody useless that I gave up the Idea.
Recently a friend made one for me and I gave it a go, not really thinking that I'd take to it. However I have not only taken to it but have gained an extra 15yards on my distance. I have to admit that a glove is more comfortable to wear (in my op) but the tab is deffinately more effective.

Cheers Dante + Steve58

Ratty, I have a 110# Hungarian horse bow and the serving is very tight and the string cut into my fingers even through a thick glove so I have put one of those rubber finger guards on the string and still use a glove and no problem with the fingers. Might be worth a try

Try 3Rivers 3Rivers Archery Equipment, Traditional Youth Archery Bows and Arrows, and Long Bow Hunting - I use the Cant Pinch cordovan tab - slick off the string and painless to use despite being only two layers thick. This tab totally convinced me regarding the tab versus glove debate and I have three of them. As far as gloves go the Big Shot Elk is the absolute most comfortable, best fitting and slickest glove I have ever used but unfortunately it does not work with a deep hook as the nylon webbing overlays are too short. If you shoot off your fingertips I honestly believe it's the ultimate glove.
