| I want to see that "beast " too, you may want a nice padded leather handle on it to absorb all that poundage!!! |

don't suggest putting a handle on a warbow ! people will get upset ;-) |

| Hey whatever floats yer boats is great by me. I always have a giggle when people say they might consider retiring into longbow shooting for relaxation, when they don't realise they need a weight higher then their recurve to get a decent distance with a longbow.

Too true... I reckon that between my wheelie bow and my stick, I'll be able to increase the poundage on my recurve ![]()

| At first I did not see the point in the the really heavy draw weights of war bows. I thought they were miss machines as well. How ever I have reconsidered, I have remembered that the point of these bows is not to put an arrow in the target. Its is to put the arrow in your enemy, which involves punching through a bit of hard ware. What good is hitting your intended victim if it just bounces off? You fire off an arrow with enough power to do some damage then if you miss it does not matter so much because the poor sod behind your intended victim will probablely get it. These war bows were intended to aim at a group of enemies the aim being to whittle down the numbers before the hand to hand fighting, and to be used as area fire at formations.

| To bald Eagle, Shooting a heavy weight longbow is something some of us do for the shear pleasure of it it and in the hands of someone who can shoot the weight can be just as accurate as a light weight longbow, i recently entered the World Wand Shooting championships, this was shooting at a 4" wide wooden post from 20, 30, 40 + 50yds, 65 odd people entered and after a morning practice session of 72 arrows the highest score was 14 hits, i was shooting a 105lb self yew bow made in the medieval style and i shot it in the medieval style, drawn to the ear and managed 8 hits putting me in the top 5. In the afternoon session which was a knockout competition where you shot 3 arrows at 20, 30, 40 +50yds, if you missed you were out, i managed to get into the last 5 at the 50 yd mark, also i put a 1/2" war arrow through the centre of a 1" wide hazel stick at 20yds with one shot in front of an audience of public and press photographers, THIS IS HARDLY INNACURATE wouldn't you think? I would also like to thank others fortheir kind words about my bows and other stuff, cheers guys, reading stuff like that makes all the difference when you produce bows for others. Nice one.
