| Larp archery is great fun, but does need to be done safely. an arrow that has lost its safety tip will go through cheep armour as easy as target arrows into a soft boss. the challenge with larp archery is shooting at targets that know they are being shoot at and can take steps to avoid it. re-enactment tends to be shooting at units on a battlefield and they take the hits and play dead have fun with your new bow, join a club and get a lower poundage bow for shooting at people whether you decide to do larp or re-enactment. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| if you decide to do reenactment find yourself a local reenactment group and they'll give you all the help/advice you need.

![]() I have just received my bow through the post. It is awesome. I did not realise 42lb would be such a powerfull unit. I would not like to be shot with it, even if it did have a rubber tip ![]() SF

| Don't most reenacters insist on a 32# (or threabouts) max bow poundage, or does that depend on the individual society? |
| |||||
| You're right, max poundage is 30lbs give or take.

| Hi, the re-enactment group i'm with (COMITATVS) allows anything up to 40#, but I suppose that's because we normally shoot at people behing shields or shield walls. |
