Nocking point on Hungarian Bow

Any got any advice on how to set a nocking point on a Hunagarian bow?
As there is no arrow rest I am shooting off my hand, is it just a case of trial and error?

hi Mik,
you hand is supposed to be pushing the bow on the nearest point to you (on the inward curve) so if you place your hand there and make the nocking point 1/8" - 1/4" above the right angle from your knuckle it should just shoot fine. Indeed some fine tuning is essential..
good shooting

There is no harm in gripping the bow as if to shoot it, then putting a thin pencil line where the arrow sits. You can then use this as a reference for setting up your nocking point. If your using large fletchings as per traditional, then i'd set your nock point slightly high.

nocking point on hungarian bow

I was advised that you should balance the bow with the bowstring resting on your index fingure with the hand held vertically, then rotate the the hand to the horisontal position.Put the nocking point for starters at the point where the pinkie [small fingure] touches the string

I'm sorry but that does not make any sense.

Firstly you have to grip the bow, that now gives you youre arrows resting position and from that you can mark your 90 degrees on the string and then you can put the nocking point whatever height you want from the mark. Simple !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
