somewhere to shoot (Nottingham)

A group of us (4) are trying to find somewhere to practise roving style archery but so far have not had any luck
i.e. we just want use of a field at least 200 yards long away from people/buildings

just wondering if anyone knows of somewhere we could try or have some land we could rent or know of a good web site to find a field we could rent etc. (somewhere in the Nottingham area)

just a few hours use on a Sunday would be enough but we would consider renting (or even buying) a field if the price is right

You may want to try contacting either Spirit of Sherwood field archers, or Pines Park field archers (both on the NFAS website) they're both within a few miles of Nottingham (either side of Ollerton)
Alternatively, try giving Christine a bell at KG. I know they regularly hold record status shoots around Nottingham, somewhere. They might let you use their field.

KG is worth a try - cheers

I went to Pines Park last Sunday for a shoot, its a nice location but I dont think there is any open spaces for roving type shots?

I have a warbow and so want to be looking at over 200 yard shots (well one day anyway ;-)

Thats not Roving, its at least clout, if not flight or just chucking arrows in the air.

Your original posting said you wanted a field 200 yards long, and now you are saying you want to shoot 200 yards. Perhaps you should include a margin for safety. We dont want anyone getting shot (oh no, that NFAS field)

well eventually I would want to be shooting 300 yards so a field of 400 yards length would be ideal but something 200 yards long would at least give me a start
at the moment the only time I can shoot long distance is at a Pickwick shoot which is something like once a month at best

I think the Pickwick Pepperpot roves tend to be around the 170 yard length (the long ones anyway) ?
and then there is the John Holder Challenge mark (although I guess this is flight ?)
