Fantastic!

Now V, as I may call you, tell me more about this Hunnish bow? Is it the asymmetrical type? I am lusting after a Grozer one on ebay which is beautiful and silvery and I could get it with my next pay check... but how are they to shoot? Would I be even less accurate than with my longbow? If that's possible..

My wifes bow is a Kassai Wolf II ( Kassai lovasíjászat - Horseback archers equipment - Bows - Mongolian - Wolf II. ) , pretty much symmetrical. For only a 25lb bow it has a lot of power behind it and she loves it. She originally started with recurve but after trying a club members trad bow, i had to buy her one and she has never looked back! ended up selling the recurve because it was never going to get used again!

We have 3 eastern bows, Mrs V's Wolf II, and i have a Grozer Old Scythian 44lb and a 45lb Kassai Hun bow. They are extremely fast for thier weight and they look bloody good to boot! with the addition of a leather grip to them which gives an arrow shelf of sorts to improve the consistency of arrow placement, they can perform really well! im not very good with them because i mainly shoot recurve, but Mrs V is getting very sharp with her one! and there are some archers at the club who have shot nothing but hun bows for years now, and can drill out the gold on a 4 face every end without fail.

they are lovely

Thanks for the info. This is the one I have my beady eyes on, but only because it is just so... silvery and beautiful.

Beautiful bow

Is it similar shape to your hun bow? I get mixed up with hun, hunnish and hungarian. I don't know whether to just get a cheaper and more basic mongolian (which I have had a try of ) or go for the sexy option..

Ooh that's nice, I like the embossing (? is that the right word) on the leather! So you don't find having a shorter lower limb too tricky?

I can feel myself falling for the fishskin!! Roll on payday!

you dont notice it really because the force of the top vs bottom limb is balanced so the bow is balanced at draw. It does feel a little top heavy when your holding it, but as soon as you draw it it balances perfectly.

Thank you! I'm sorry to hijack your thread, V, but as you've found your quarters now I didn't think you'd mnd.

If anyone else has any advice/opinions on the beautiful bow, I'd be very grateful.

I've got a traditional hungarian bow myself, I love it, it's 40# @ 28", i'm looking at getting one of the asymetrical hun bows sometime in the future, either that or a Hungarian bow similar to this one (probably a higher draw weight) : Archery

That ones a bit too expensive for me at the minute, but it's a possibility in the future. I'm sure you wont regret buying that bow Rachel, they're really nice to shoot!
