AFBs...

I have deceided that I want to get an AFB for Xmas.....

I am not looking to spend more that £100, so looking for recommendations for suppliers etc. Merlin have a Samick and a Black bear - both within the price and nice looking.

you thoughts???

I have thought I wanted one for a wee while....at the club we've already got a couple of mongos and an ELB....

Then I tried Brian Kupris' at Escoco.....damn that this was nice!!!

Try Falco in Estonia. A chap from my club got one to do a field shoot and it is just gorgeous! I think this will be where I get mine from.

If you ask me you get what you pay for and to be honest £100 won't get you much.

The Black Bear is a recurve not a flat bow, that may not matter to you but it's not an AFB (American Flat Bow), I have a Wolf bow which I got from Merlin, made by the same people as the Black Bear, it's not a bad bow and I enjoyed shooting it, that was until I started shooting really good bows and the difference was amazing.

I think for £100 you won't get much so it's really just a case of picking one you like the look of.

I've got an Internature Viper De-Lux. ÀÎÅͳ×ÀÌó »ó¼¼À̹ÌÁö Link is in Korean but works.
Lovely looking bow very sweet and easy, it's a crying shame I need a big barn door for something to aim at. Available left and right handed and in a good range of draw weight, got it from Gwyn at Eastcote House

No porblem, wasn't a criticism. I think I might have been a little negative earlier, my main point being in the £100 market you won't get something that will provide stunning performance, the bows are very much the same in that regard.

I have shot a fair few "cheap" flat bows recently, they are all good enough for somebody just looking to have a go at one. I'd definately recommend the Wolf and it's well within your budget.

However don't be put off AFB's if you do get one and are not impressed, it's the same as if you were to purchase a cheap Compound or Recurve.

My main bow will still be the recurve, but I fancy getting something different purely for the fun of it - hence why I don't want to spend a shed load of cash!!!
